Lime City Guide

Doubleday & Cartwright got tapped to do Lime’s first brand campaign in Los Angeles. We started thinking about how much people’s experience of LA is shaped by the reliance on cars, and what that means for their relationship to time, space, place, and other humans.

We decided to build out a guide to the city that, rather than focus on singular destinations, would take a more immersive approach and explore the stories, and vibes, of different neighborhoods.

The features ended up being more like profiles, weaving together ideas, history, and criticism, a philosophy of how to move through the world commensurate with this new way to get around.

LIME, 2019

Life in Los Angeles is shaped by the reliance on cars. But on a scooter, the experience is more immersive and less focused on singular destinations.

These features on notable neighborhoods wove together ideas, history, and criticism to exemplify a new way of relating to the city. In addition to living online, they were compiled in a physical zine.
