The best part about casting in New York, as opposed to Los Angeles, is that you invariably get a bunch of actors who you recognize from Law & Order. Leaning into that was a no-brainer, even if Lee Jennings and I had no idea at the time that James Cullen, who played a nefarious NYPD higher-up in two episodes that I’d seen at least 10 times, would play a major role in it.
